Community initiatives

Community Policing

Across New Zealand, malls are fast becoming the social centre of a community and as such The Palms are happy to support community policing for the area.

Community policing has been shown to reduce crime and improve safety and reassures the community.  For the last 2 years Constable Keith Payne has been the community constable for the mall.  He is familiar with and accessible to the community and problems are identified and responded to on a local level whenever possible.

The Community Policing office is located along the South West side of the mall between Westpac and the Customer Services Kiosk entrance to the mall.  Keith and his team of volunteers are available Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm.
